Akula Living has launched a new collection of maintenance free 'rattan' furniture, guaranteed to withstand the worst of the British weather for five years.
To enable its new portfolio to withstand heavy usage, the company has utilised top quality first grade high-density polyethylene virgin 'wicker' produced by Rehau, the world's leading manufacturer of artificial polymers.
Being weatherproof it can be left outside all year and - as it is resilient to UV rays - is fade resistant too. It will not mark when scratched either, as the material is coloured right through rather than just being surface printed.
The fabrics are supplied by Sunbrella and are hardwearing and fade resistant, as well as being mould and mildew resistant and shower proof. The cushion covers are machine washable.
The aluminium frames of the new pieces are completely powder coated to match the rattan and to prevent rust.
The collection comprises three ranges in a variety of colours - the Biscay Collection uses a durable rope twist for added strength, the Colonial Collection (pictured) mirrors the traditional vintage wicker furniture, and the Aegean Collection uses soft flat weave.
The ranges consist of formal dining sets through to sofa suites and sun loungers.
